Wake Forest University



 Wake Forest   is a  medium sized research University in suburban Winstom-Salem,  North Carolina.
 Wake  has strong community feel and  could be considered a large liberal arts college with graduate programs. Wake Forest is made up of six schools. Its graduate programs include those in the highly ranked School of Law, School of Business and School of Medicine. Undergraduates are enrolled in either Wake Forest College or the business school. Wake Forest College is a  liberal arts college of arts and sciences.   Wake Forest has a strong commitment to  "Educating the Whole Person" ,  and this means the  school embraces inter disciplinary work, student research  and  giving students a  lot of control of their own education. Its not uncommon to meet a  accounting  major interested in French literature or a mathematician  into film studies.

 Admission to Wake is competitive . The acceptance rate is 29% . In May of 2008, Wake Forest announced that it would no longer require applicants  to submit scores in standardized tests such as the SAT or the ACT. Wake is currently the highest ranked university to  follow  a test -optional policy.
   This meand Wake focuses more on getting to know the student as a person  and  this makes the essays more important.
 The essays are  as follows:

 1. Discuss a work of fiction you read on your own, and tell us why it should have been required.
2. What have you done to challenge or change that which outrages you?
3. 58% of Wake Forest’s Class of 2015 received academic credit for faculty-directed research across academic disciplines. Describe a specific high school assignment that sparked an academic curiosity you hope to explore further in college
