Indiana University

 Indiana University(IU), Bloomington is the flagship campus of the state.
 It  is a large research university with   excellent facilitiess, strong academic programs and a lively social scene. In terms of academics and other criteria, IU Bloomington ranks in top 100 national universities in the United States and the top 50 public universities in the country.
The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest of the University's academic divisions and home to more than 40 percent of IU's undergraduates. In addition, the College offers many electives and general education courses for students enrolled in most other schools on campus. There are more than 50 academic departments in the College, encompassing a broad range of disciplines from the traditional (such as Anthropology, Art History, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Classics, English, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Religious Studies, and Sociology) to more modern and specialized areas such as gender studie and incognive science.  IU also has vdery strong professional and pre-profession undergraduate mahors. The most popular majors at Indiana University--Bloomington include: Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Social Sciences, Biological and Biomedical Sciences and Parks, Recreation, Leisure, and Fitness Studies.

 Admission to IU is selective with an acceptance rate of  78%(naturally  much lower for out of state  students). IU is ranked #86 among national universities but is one of the best public  universities and an excellent "safety" option  for many - especially Indiana students.

  IU requires an essay as follows:
  As part of your application, regardless of which platform you choose, you will need to submit the IU-specific essay (Writing Supplement for the Common Application). In 200–400 words, you’ll be asked to describe your academic and career plans and any special interest (for example, undergraduate research, academic interests, leadership opportunities, etc.) that you are eager to pursue as an undergraduate at Indiana University. Also, if you encountered any unusual circumstances, challenges, or obstacles in pursuit of your education, you may share those experiences and how you overcame them. Please note that this essay may be used for scholarship consideration.
