University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut ( known as UConn), is a land grant public research university in Storrs, Connecticut, Uconn offers more than 120 academic majors in 14 schools and colleges.
The intellectual and cultural resources of UConn, and a  location close to the major hubs of New York City and Boston, make for a stimulating and inspiring environment for students. UConn is one of the nation's leading public research universities, and serves as a center of academic  research.UConn is one of the founding institutions of the Hartford, Connecticut/Springfield, Massachusetts regional economic and cultural partnership alliance known as New England's Knowledge Corridor.

 Sports are a big part of student life and UConn is best known for  its Huskies  Basketball teams.

The university was ranked  20th among Public Universities and  60th among National Universities in the 2017.

 Admission is selective and the acceptance rate is just 53%.  UConn requires a brief essay answer to one  of thes promps:
