Texas A&M University

 Texas A&M   is a large  research school in College Station Texas,  It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 48,960,  and the campus size is 5,200 acres.
 Originally the Texas Agricultural and  Mechanical university - it  was shortened to A&M. The school  offers a variety of Majors though it is still best known for  having  exceptional Engineering  programs the school’s Cadet Corps, the largest ROTC program in the nation.With 16 colleges and schools, including the Health Science Center, and branch campuses in Galveston and Qatar, the university is one of the most diversified and comprehensive institutions in the nation.  TAMU is a very research oriented school and is one of the top recipients of federal research funding.
Texas students form a large  proportion on campus,  TAMU has students from all states and over 100 countries.   TAMU  has the largest ROTC program  in the   USA.



 While the acceptance rate is 66%,  Texas A&M is  very selective as this statistic is inflated by the large number of in state students who  are  accepted.  It is currently ranked #74 but  individual departments especially in Engineering are ranked much higher.

 Texas &M uses the Apply  Texas application or the Coalition application.
 The essays are as follows:
 
Essay A - Required
What was the environment you were raised in? Describe your family, home, neighborhood, or community, and explain how it has shaped you as a person.

Essay B - Required
Most students have an identity, an interest, or a talent that defines them in an essential way. Tell us about yourself.

Essay C - Optional
You've got a ticket in your hand. Where will you go? What will you do? What will happen when you get there?

The following essay topics are valid for The Coalition Application ONLY.

Essay A - Required
Tell a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates your character or helped to shape it.

Essay B - Required
Describe a time when you made a meaningful contribution to others in which the greater good was your focus. Discuss the challenges and rewards of making your contribution.

Essay C - Optional
Submit an essay on a topic of your choice. The essay should be personal and utilized as a tool to share your story with the Admissions Committee.
