Michigan State University


 Michigsn State  University (MSU) is a  well  regarded  public university. Michigan State was the first land-grant institution in the country,.It is often overshadowed by its in state rival - the  University of  Michigan  but  MSU  is   also an academic powerhouse.in 1969, Michigan State has shifted its focus from increasing the size of its student body to advancing its national and global reputation. In 2005,  the president called for MSU,considered  one of the public ivy institutions, to become the global model leader for Land Grant institutions by 2012. Opportunities to customize the undergraduate experience are nearly limitless, from study abroad programs and undergraduate research opportunities to more than 200 fields of study that run the gamut from acclaimed science and engineering programs to individualized business programs to innovative liberal arts programs.
 MSU is centered around a liberal arts College of Arts and Sciences but is comprised of  several professional college such as the    Eli  Broad school of  Business. The most popular majors at Michigan State University include: Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Social Sciences, Biological and Biomedical Sciences and Engineering.  Pre-professional majors and courses are very well represented at  MSU.
 Admission is selective  with an acceptance rate of 66% ( low for a public school). MSU is ranked #82 but individual departments rank much higher  The application requires an essay.
