New York University (NYU)

  New York  University(NYU) is   one of the most prominent  urban universities in the country.NYU is a true city school, with no borders separating a distinct campus from the streets of the Big Apple. Students are guaranteed housing for all four years in the many residence halls throughout Manhattan, but many upperclassmen choose to live off campus in apartments around the city.  NYU is considered one of the world’s most influential and foremost research universities.NYU is organized into more than 20 schools, colleges, and institutes,^[12] located in six centers throughout Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn.   NYU's  schools such as the Stern  Business school and the Tisch School of Performing Arts are often r ranked among the top programs for their specialties. NYU's main campus is located at Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan with institutes and centers on the Upper East Side, academic buildings and dorms down on Wall Street, and the Brooklyn campus located at MetroTech Center in Downtown Brooklyn. The university also established NYU Abu Dhabi, NYU Shanghai and maintains 11 other Global Academic Centers that offer students study abroad programs.

    
 Admission to  NYU   is very competitive with an acceptance rate of 33%,  NYU is ranked  #36 amongst  national universities.  The supplemental essay asks a pretty simple question: Why NYU? Get creative with this answer and tell us all the things that excite you about NYU.  Be creative but focused. Talk about  NYU and not  New York City.
