Collectively, the campuses in Tempe and three other locations in the Phoenix area offer students more than 300 undergraduate academic programs to pick from and more than 500 clubs and organizations to check out.  ASU has been  investing heavily in the schools academic  infrastructure in an effort to  distance itrself from the "party school" moniker.Since 2002 the university's research expenditures have tripled and more than 1.5 million square feet of space has been added to the university's research facilities.the Tempe campus is the most solar-powered of any in the U.S.

Barrett - the Honors College at ASU is a  unique institution. It is a  residential college  on the Tempe  campus.   At  Barretts students  can have the intimate   experience  offered by liberal arts schools while also having access to a mahor research university campus.    The student faculty ratio at Barrett is   4:1.  and students work very closely with faculty
Barret has a unique course structure  based  on a year long course in human history and philosophy called the  Human event.   thriugh this students get to know the faculty personally and start to identify their advisors and  start thinking about their thesis work.

Acceptancr rates at ASU are around 80% but as with all public schools this is inflated by instate students.   One applies to Barrets after submitting an ASU application.
